Florence

Hello from Florence(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence). Venice was really nice and we had a great time there, such a beautiful city but so completely rammed full of tourists in the main areas. St Marco’s is so jam packed with tourists it’s hilarious, and the prices in the cafes around there are equally ridiculous, 5 Euro for a coffee?

We managed to walk through most parts of the city over the 3 days we were there and saw a hell of a lot of the city. We tried to avoid the tourist areas as much as possible and came across some really cool parts off the beaten track including a soccer field and some great plazas filled with locals out drinking and playing soccer and fire twirling.

Today we got up fairly early and grabbed a train to Bologna(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bologna) for lunch and ate Tagliatelle Ragu ( how apt ). Fairly nice town, I could have easily spent a day or two there. After lunch we jumped on a train headed for Florence(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence). We almost jumped on the wrong train as there are believe it or not two completely different platforms with the number 6. Only in Italy.

Anyway we have been told that we need to get up stupidly early tomorrow ( as in leave the hostel at 7 ) so that we don’t have to queue up too long to get into the museums, apparently the queues get up to about 5 hours at the worst.

Anyway gotta run, keep on emailing, I will try to reply to everybody who emails. Also you can leave comments on these blog articles if you like.

Ciao
